Well here we are at the end of another year of the

Well here we are at the end of another year of the junior Angling championship held at Mill Cotton was so nice to see so many return and lots of new faces. Firstly is important to say how grateful we are for the continued support as coaches were here to try and ensure, children can compete safely and an environment that is fun. I wanna say to everyone that helped out thank you. These events can’t take place without you, but in particular my lieutenants i Ian Halliwell and Paul Lyons. We always ask each other how we do each day and some days when you’re a little below Par the humour and good spirits is what helps you make it to the end of the day so onto the results.

Today saw the final match of the August series at Mill Cotton once again we extend a huge thank you to all the parents guardians and associate family members managed to get the children to today’s match. Conditions were just about perfect blue skies and a light breeze however the fishing wasn’t easy once again thankfully all the children stuck at it and Tried their hardest.

Match four of the five match series took place today at Mill cotton’s snake lake a huge thank you to all that helped and attended and brought children today. Very tricky conditions prevailed for much of the day there was a lot of swirling wind which made the Fishing difficult. Despite this all children Fish very very well and did their best to catch as many as possible here are the results

Once again in challenging and changing conditions we had 14 juniors competing on the snake lake today huge thanks as usual to all the parents grandparents family and friends that make these events possible. The first junior club match of the year at the snake lake today on pegs 21-40 as always on matches at mill cotton it fished very hard and the weather certainly didn’t help but the children in attendance tried so hard today and I’m proud of each and every one of them.

As from tonight the gates on barkers will be open just please be aware that many swims on the backbrook side are still wet . it would be advisable to drop tackle off and park in car park if you get stuck its your responsibility to get your vehicle out you have been warned

Just a reminder that there is a charity match on this weekend on barkers this will take up 20 pegs .The lake will still be open to members to fish all weekend as well

A gentle reminder when you fish please leave all n

A gentle reminder when you fish please leave all nets in daylight 30 mins before you fish, as there is an possible outbreak of KHV in the local area obviously we want to avoid this. So on arrival at any of our fisheries put your nets in the sun(if there is any) and allow the ultraviolet light to work it’s magic.

I would like to say a massive thank you to the bai

I would like to say a massive thank you to the bailiffs of Ringstead and there families for planting 600 hawthorns and field maple along this section of the backwater. This section has been a problem when in flood that the debris have collected up on the predator fencing and causing it to be pushed over from the weight of the flowing water . The reason for the hedge is to catch the debris and allow the free flowing of the flood water through the fence .
